Arts give students the opportunity to be involved in learning and expressing themselves through Dance, Drama, Music and the Visual Arts.
Learning through the arts offers students multiple chances to embrace their own individualism while forging new connections with the ideas and approaches of other creative thinkers. Arts students learn to have excellent self-management skills which are transferable to other subject areas. They are given multiple opportunities to connect with the real world through exhibitions, collaborative projects, performances, the dance showcase and school productions. By applying 21st century skills, such as creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking, students discover new ways to communicate ideas, in a range of both traditional and contemporary styles.
Students are given the opportunity to use industry software to create promotional material, advertising, marketing and books on a topic of their choice. Students taking painting, photography and design can use techniques to plan and resolve ideas towards making a final piece. They can explore a wide range of problem solving strategies to come up with creative solutions and outcomes. Other opportunities exist for students to trial ideas in sculpture, collage and multimedia.
