| Achievement in year 11 music or equivalent - 4th year on a music instrument (voice is an instrument) with HOD Music approval. | ||||
| Learning Strategies: | ||||
| Individual and group performance skills developed in conjunction with private music tutors. Where possible, students will receive free instrument tuition. Composition/songwriting will involve music creation using either notation software or digital audio interface and recording equipment, to shape and structure original musical ideas. Students will learn about sound design for event purposes, and also broaden their range of musical knowledge, theory & styles. | ||||

| Students will: • Create compositions, using secure technical and musical skills and technologies to express imaginative thinking and personal understandings OR create an instrumentation. • Present performances of music, individually and collaboratively, demonstrating interpretative understandings • Analyse significant expressive features and stylistic conventions and technologies in a range of music, using practical and theoretical knowledge. • Perform one piece on a second instrument (optional). |
