Achievement in year 12 music or equivalent - 5th year on a music instrument (voice is an instrument) with HOD Music approval. | ||||
Learning Strategies: | ||||
Individual and group performance skills developed in conjunction with private music tutors. Where possible, students will receive free instrument tuition. This is a differentiated course tailored to the student, it can include performance, arrangement, harmonic and tonal convention, external analysis of a set work and composition, or songwriting. |

Main Areas of Study: | ||||
Students may choose to: • Create compositions OR write songs, using secure technical and musical skills and technologies to express imaginative thinking. • Create arrangements of music - reworking or adapting existing musical material for an ensemble. • Present performance programmes of music, individually and collaboratively, demonstrating interpretative understandings • Analyze significant expressive features and stylistic conventions and technologies in a range of music, using practical and theoretical knowledge. • Perform two pieces on a second instrument (optional). |
