Learning Strategies: | ||||
Our work and assessment in Level 1 Drama is very practical. Students work in groups for all assessments and therefore practice key skills such as team work and time management. Each assessment ends in a live performance and contains a small written component to support the student’s work. Often this written component can be completed in alternative forms, such as video or audio recordings. There is no external exam. Students instead work on a portfolio to demonstrate their skill and understanding and this is completed mostly during class time. | ||||
Main Areas of Study: | ||||
In this course students will: - explore the fundamentals of dramatic performance and creation. - analyse short scripts and perform these in groups. - attend a piece of live theatre and explore how theatre connects with its audience and makes meaning. - work in groups to create an original drama. Through this assessment they will learn about how stories are created as well as how to create meaningful performances for a specific audience. |
