    Costs:
    Performance lessons are an essential part of the course and may incur costs. Student workbook $20
    Prerequisites:
    Year 10 Music or HOD Music approval.
    Learning Strategies:
    This course will focus on three areas. Firstly, performance demonstrating evidence in technical skills, accuracy, musicianship and presentation. Secondly, composition will demonstrate skills in music theory as well as organizing ideas into structure, unity, contrast and balance and presented in a visual form. Thirdly, the research assignment will develop knowledge on a particular genre with particular emphasis on style of music, relevant composers and/or performers, instruments used and historical context.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Learning styles will be mostly based on practical opportunities to practice and perform as well as opportunities to compose using music software. The research project will be somewhat self directed with timeline checks.
