Achievement in Year 10 Music or equivalent. Students should be in their third year of learning an instrument (including voice). HOD Music approval required. | ||||
Learning Strategies: | ||||
Music is a creative and practical subject that develops skills in performance, composition, listening, and music technology. Students will work with a private tutor to develop their instrumental or vocal skills, and build confidence through solo and group performance. They will compose original music using digital software, explore sound design, and apply theory in practical contexts. | ||||
Main Areas of Study: | ||||
Students will apply music skills in a chosen style, perform with fluency and expression, and develop technical control on their instrument or voice. They will compose original pieces using notation software and MIDI tools, shaping and structuring ideas over time. Aural and theoretical knowledge will be integrated throughout the course. Students will engage in creative tasks that strengthen their understanding of musical styles and techniques. This course supports future pathways in performance, composition, music production, and the wider creative industries. |
