    L1DES L1 Art Design/Photographic Manipulation 10 credits Yr: 11
    5 credits externally assessed and 5 credits internally assessed.
    Costs:
    $50 course costs includes colour photocopies, computer printing, folio boards and pencil.
    Prerequisites:
    It is preferable for students to have studied year 9 and 10 Art but is not compulsory. Students may choose this option if they have a passion or interest in developing creative skills in design and photography.
    Learning Strategies:
    This course will focus on a range of art design skills and processes as well as digital photography and multi media. Students will study a range of visual art-making projects throughout the year. These will focus on the concept of Turangawaewae through our local histories as well as other global contexts. The course will inspire creative thinking and include learning digital art making processes and photographic manipulation within the Abode Suite, such as Photoshop, Indesign, Lightroom. Students will explore a range of ways of working with mixed wet and dry drawing media. It will also include a focus on the creative process which will build on skills taught from Year 7-10.
    Main Areas of Study:
    This course will include a range of teaching and learning styles. Through practical tasks and written annotations with a visual presented portfolio and folio board.

    Students at Level 1 can take either L1 Art Design/Photography or L1 Art Painting/Photography but they cannot take both.
