    4 credits externally assessed, 18 credits internally assessed.

    Learning Strategies:
    In this course, students will be involved in a combination of choreography and performance assessments. They will further their understanding of creating movement to communicate an intention and will experience a range of dance styles and genres, including an ethnic or social dance. They will be given the chance to perform on stage in front of an audience in order to be assessed in an authentic environment. The external will give students a chance to gain literacy credits and endorsement in this subject by demonstrating their in-depth understanding and interpretation of a dance performance viewed throughout the year. Students will work both individually and in groups throughout the year.
    Main Areas of Study:
    In Level 2 Dance, students will extend their skills in the vocabulary, practices and technologies of a range of dance genres and styles. They will also investigate and evaluate the effect of social and cultural influences on selected dance genres.
