Jack on Track

On the 11th & 12th of July, Jack Rodgers competed at the annual New Zealand Miniature TT champs in Kuratu, Taupo. This national event had people coming from as far south as Dunedin and as far north as Whangarei. With Jack competing in the 8-12 years 150/85 cc class racing against some of New Zealand's top Motorcross riders he finished in 4th place overall. Jack said "The track was really cool and nice & fast!" "Moto1 and 2 were the best because the ground was icy which meant it was like a speed way track drifting around all the corners." "I thought that my efforts at this event were pretty good, considering I have never done any thing like this before!" 
This is Jack's second season of racing competitive motorcross and he finished 3rd overall in the Rodney Motorcycle Club 85/150cc class and was also awarded Most Improved Junior Rider; " The Jack Robinson Memorial Cup" 
Jack is also a member of the Pukekohe Motorcycle Club, which he is competing extremely well in and is sitting 2nd overall with one point separating 1st and 2nd Placing at the moment. Jack did well at the last club round with going 1-2-1 and even with falling off, he still managed to get back to the front. There is only one more round left of the winter series at Pukekohe.
Jack also competes in motocross endurance events. Most recently the first round of the Woodhill 2 Hour Series, which Jack entered in the Open Junior Solo, where he is racing against boys and girls much older than him up to 18 years of age. After a tricky start with a flat tire early into the first hour, he dropped back to 7th place but by the end of the day, raced his way back to 3rd place with some hard riding.
