Vocal Point perform at the annual Big SIng competition
The senior choir, Vocal Point, attended the annual Big SIng competition in Whangarei on Thursday 10th June. A larger choir this year of 35 students performed three pieces, a classical piece - Canon of Joy, a modern piece - Colours of the Wind and a New Zealand piece composed especially for them by Jennifer Eirena -Promise of Land.
Vocal Point sang their best ever, ably accompanied by Peter Kee and were very good ambassadors for our school. As well as performing and hearing the other schools perform we enjoyed our time at Burger King on the way home. T
he adjudicators report was full of praise for our 'feel' for the music and our use of dynamics while also giving us tips on how to improve the quality of the sound. A terrific trip with terrific students.
