Pasifica Group performs at May 4th Assembly

On the 4th of May our Kiribati performing group showed us the dances they performed at the Pasifika Festival in Auckland last term. The Pasifika festival is a gathering of all the Pacific communities in New Zealand. It is a very special day for the Pacific communities who perform and compete against friends and meet up with family who live in other parts of New Zealand. It is a day to watch dancing and hear singing.

In July our Kiribati group will compete in the Independence day festival. They are practising their new dances and hope to show them to us after the festival.

Also at the May 4th Assembly, A presentation was made encouraging students to be involved in the 40 hour famine. The Haka Competition trophy was presented to Orange house and the Mt Roskill exchange trophy was presented to the Head Prefects after Mahus convincing wins in most codes.
