Real Art Show: - An Art Gallery in a truck!

image

The countries most unconventional Art gallery via a 8m truck arrived at Mahurangi College for two days this week. For many students this was the first chance they have been given to see live art - the true scale, texture and colour of the art work. The experience has opened many students eyes to a wide variety of ideas and meanings within artwork. The truck showcases 60 artworks from well known New Zealand artists.

The size and scale of the truck enabled about 60 students every hour to view the show and each student was given sketch diaries and pencils for students to use to write down their ideas and thoughts. It was great to see our students listening to the stories and inner meanings told by the curator and It has been a fantastic opportunity for students to see sculpture, painting and photography. The college looks forward to hosting this again next year.
