NCEA top Art show in library
This week Mahurangi College has hosted the Top Art exhibition. This is a selection of 25 excellence and scholarship folio boards, from around New Zealand. Senior art students have been able to see first hand the standard of work required to achieve to the highest level. While junior classes have enjoyed been shown the ideas and storytelling within the folio boards.
The standard of this years exhibition was high and having the work in real life helps our students understand the way the folio boards are graded, it is especially difficult to see the changes in media and paint handling skills in small photos. This year it was great to see other colleges come and view the exhibition. The art department would like to see this become a annual event and next year it is planned to invite the community in for a open evening.
