Year 13s return from another successful Barrier trip

At 3am on Sunday the 31st as year 13’s we began our journey. Over 5 days, 5 groups of about 20 students tramped up mountains, along a tramline and through the forest as well as being trained up as a peer support leader and enjoying the beautiful rivers and oceans Great Barrier has to offer.

Each group came away with a different experiences- ours entailed trying eel fresh from the river for the first time, sleeping under the stars night after night and getting to know the most awesome group of people in a crazy environment.

We can truly say that because of the people on Barrier it was one of the best times of our life and we would go back in a heart beat. We would also strongly encourage any future Mahu student or parent to give it a go because both the time and money is well spent.

Thanks to Mr Stirling and all the teachers and parents who came to ensure this year's Year 13s were able to experience this challenging and exciting environment
