Mahurangi Athletes take on the Mount Monster

A group of Mahurangi athletes competed at Mount Maunganui's iconic beach along with surf life savers from around the country to take on The Mount Monster. This 25-kilometre, four-discipline event tested even the fittest clubbie swith 5 km beach run, 1.5km run swim run(including rock jump), 12km surf ski paddle and 6 km knee board paddle. Read more:

Several Mahu students took part. Paul Hardy, Chantelle Maher and Sam Peterson completed the whole course as an individual in the Under 19s. Austin Puckett, Liana Sykes and Tyler Yearbury-Ferguson made up a team in the U19s. Jamie Peterson paddled the board for the Piha Open team and they came second. Also in the photo, is the Omaha SLSC Surf Sports coach Teneale Hatton.
