Another successful F1-4 Regatta - Algies Bay Mon 25th

2013 results: P Class | Optimists | Starling | Laser Radial |Techno | RSX

The Form 1-4 Regatta was sailed today in ideal conditions with a fleet of 45 yachts racing on Kawau Bay. Racing on two courses, sailors enjoyed a light, freshening breeze (5-10 knots)  from the east for races 1 & 2. The breeze then freshened to 12-15 knots in the afternoon for the final set of two races. This pattern has been a feature of several previous regattas, providing a broad range of conditions to test the competitors. Many thanks to all competitors and volunteers who made the regatta possible.

The Form 1-4 Regatta has been hosted by Mahurangi College at Algies Bay. The aim of this regatta is for a relaxed, fun day with a series of short races that would provide racing practice for junior members of school sailing teams. For many, particularly on the Optimist course, it is their first regatta. For others the North Harbour Intermediate Optimist Championship is up for grabs. This year the Jono Weston from Belmont Intermediate claimed the title. Other classes represented were Laser Radial, RSX and Techno Boards, P Class and Starling.

Next year's regatta is planned to be will be held on Monday, November 24th 2014. We hope to see you there.
