Careers Evening 2018

Mahurangi College Gymnasium
Thursday 9 August 2018
7.00pm - 8.30pm

Mahurangi College's annual Careers Evening is open to the public as well as College students and their parents. Approximately 55 training establishments and occupations will be represented, including Universities, Technicial Institutes, Training Organisations, Police and Armed Forces.

Some of the Tertiary Institutes to be represented are: Auckland University, Massey University, Waikato University, University of Otago, AUT, Unitec, and Northland Polytechnic. The Inland Revenue Department and Studylink will also be represented to provide relevant information about student allowances and loans.

A very successful Careers Evening last year saw over 60 presenters, on 52 stalls, give information and advice to a packed Gym. Stalls were arranged so that students, parents and members of the public were able to approach stalls that they were interested in and seek advice on courses, requirements and future prospects. All the presenters were impressed with the amount of interest shown by the students, and are very happy to support this annual event.

Anyone wanting their organisation or business to be represented at this evening is invited to contact Cath Johnston or Lori Yau in the Careers Department by emailing [email protected]. We will be highlighting past pupils and their occupations and careers at this year's Career Night. If any past pupils would like to be a part of Careers Evening please also contact us via email.

In past years, the Careers Evenings have been very well attended. They are a good opportunity for students to look at different careers and to help them with their subject choices. It is also an ideal opportunity for adults wishing to further their education and to explore possibilities open to them. Members of the public are most welcome to attend.
