Yr7-10 Regatta Algies Bay 2011- Results online

A diverse range of conditions met the competitors for the 2011 Form 1-4 regatta held at Algies Bay hosted by Mahurangi College.

Four junior/youth classes were represented, the largest fleet were the optimists with 28 skippers.   Two courses were set in Kawau Bay with Optimists on one and P Classes, Starlings and Laster Radials on the other. The breeze for the morning races was a comfortable 5-10 knots with coming off the cliffs between Algies Bay and Snells Beach. Returning to the water after lunch, the skippers found the wind built gusting 18-20 at times challenging some of the novice skippers on both courses.

Particular congratulations to Nick Egnot-Johnson who won the North Harbour Intermediate Schools title and to Rory McCutcheon for taking out the Starling competition.
