Wrestling Interhouse Competition for Mahurangi College Sat Nov 6th
At the North Island Champs, Shaun Beamish competed, and placed third in his weight division. This was a fantastic achievement, given that his competition had been wrestling competitively for well over 2 years.
Our next important date is Saturday the 6th of November, where the Silverbacks Wrestling Club are hosting an Interhouse Competition for Mahurangi College. We are excited to be raising the profile of Wrestling in the school and the community. The secretary of the New Zealand Olympic Wrestling Union will be attending, as will a number of coaches from the club to assist with skills training and 'corner management'. This will mean that each Wrestler will have their own coach, who will be providing support and guidance during the bouts.
We look forward to introducing new faces to the sport.
