Blues Awards 2017
The Blues evening was a great success this year with 51 merit awards, 87 blues awarded, and six students earning national honours. Their success highlights that nearly ten percent of our students are excelling in their chosen sports.
We were privileged to have Becky Wood as our guest speaker, a former Mahurangi student and current Black Ferns member. She spoke about her life’s journey and the challenges she faced, sacrifices she made, and the labour she put into her athletic career to earn the Black Ferns Jersey and be a part of winning the Rugby World Cup this year. Her speech was very inspiring and captivating.
A special thanks to the sport and physical education departments for their hard work prior to and on the night.
