Mahurangi College Hockey Club AGM - 1 March, 7pm
 
To Parents / Caregivers:  Hockey enthusiasts
The annual AGM for the Mahurangi College Hockey Club will be held on March 1st at 7pm in the college staffroom.
I would encourage all to attend.
Background information: The Mahurangi College Hockey Club was formed in 2003 to foster a better working relationship between the college and the parents of the players. The aim was to increase the pool of potential coaches, managers, umpires, as well as forming a committee to take some of the workload off the TIC at the college. Also parents outside of the college offer a different perspective and fresh ideas into the mix and many initiatives have been under taken. Maree Todd was chairperson for the first two years. 
While the club has had many long term members that have made a huge benefit for the students of the college. I believe that the club in recent years has lost some of that parent impact that was such a key ingredient in the development of the club. This was in part due the expectation that I had done the job previously thus would just continue. 
I believe that the club has an exciting future and with the new turf at the Warkworth Showgrounds needs a fresh approach.
I will not be seeking re-election as Chairperson nor Treasurer. It is now an appropriate time for me to step aside and let new people take the club forward.
So I once again urge you to attend the AGM, have your say on where the club could be heading.
