Y7/8 Boys and Girls Sevens and Rippa teams play their final tournament for 2016

Our Y7/8 Boys and Girls 7's and Rippa teams completed their final tournament for the year last week. Every year North Harbour Rugby hosts a three day tournament held throughout terms 2 and 3 to promote the growth of rugby at a grassroot level. 

This year Mahurangi College entered a boys 7's team and a girls rippa team into the competition. Both teams faced tough opposition with a mixed bag of results, and both privileged to witness some top quality sides in action. 

Despite tough games throughout all three tournaments both teams finished on positive notes with a win for the girls rippa and a tightly contested draw for the boys' 7's in their final games. The teams were then treated to meeting some of the current North Habour Rugby players after the prizegiving. All in all a great experience and our Y7's are already talking about their team for next year!
