Vincent Bubbert - NZ Opens Championship Swimming
After Vincent’s results in last year’s Short Course Championship his goals were to get into NZ Opens. The 2016 NZ Open Championship is a race in a 50m pool to become the National Champion, and then earn a spot on the 2016 Olympic Games team in Rio de Janeiro.
At the NZ Secondairy School Champs Vincent excelled, receiving a bronze medal in 50m butterfly, and placed 6th overall in 50m freestyle. With intensive training, including with the Northland Squat team, Vincent made it to the NZ Open Championship in 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle.
The 2016 Swimming New Zealand Open Championships will see the best swimmers in the country come together for 5 days of fierce competition – all broadcast live on Sky Sports 4 from 7pm each evening. Vincent has qualified 2nd reserve for the B final tonight. We wish him the best of luck and look forward to seeing him live in action.
