Bugsy Malone- Another Amazing Junior Production 2012
Congratulations to everyone involved in the Junior School Production of Bugsy Malone! Nearly 80 students, more than 10 teachers, and a band of local musicians spent the last two months busily choreographing, staging, lighting, and rehearsing. Their hard work paid off this week as they performed to wild applause in packed-out halls: three matinees for local schools and three nights for parents and the community.
Mahurangi College believes the performing arts are both enjoyable in themselves, but also educational in context. The cast and crew learned not only the specific skills of acting, singing, dancing, lightning, sound, and stage management, but also how those skills all work together to make a professional production. They've also learned that hard work and persistence pays off!
Particular congratulations to the Junior Faculty teachers, other staff who gave so freely of their time and the parents who catered for the cast and crew during the all-day rehearsals.
