Mahu Students perform well at Smokefree Rockquest Regional Semi-Finals

Elijah Morley Sturm, Jayme Curtis, Alex Brown and Vailala Vaotangi are a newly formed band called Southgate who have played extremely well at both Regional Semis and Finals. At the finals they came third just missing a place in the National final. They  have done exceptionally well to get this far.
However, there is an opportunity for them still to get into the final, using second chance in association with the Rock Shop. They need to perform 5 gigs (performances) and record a demo in the next 3 weeks. They have their first public (non rock quest, non school) gig this Thursday at 7:30 at the Matakana Village Pub. Setting up for this performance will be a great experience for them. They will be doing some lunchtime concerts at college also.
