Our collaboration with Warkworth-Wellsford Hospice to revive the Catwalk Arts Wearable Arts show resulted in a fantastic event showcasing creative talent from the wider Rodney area. The Auditorium was transformed by a massive catwalk, awesome lighting and a wonderful assortment of music from different eras. Judges Tessa Berger, Katya Maker and Scott Lawrie were hard pressed to decide on the winners as the quality of our 40 entries was so high. The Supreme Award went to “Mahurangi River Queen”, inspired by Warkworth’s historic scow Jane Gifford, and made largely of hand dyed flax fibres. Our Mahurangi College students entered the Creative Creatures category, with top prize going to Sakura Ludolph with her ‘Dragon’s Masquerade’ creation made of hundreds of plastic bags.

Congratulations to all our contestants and winners. Thanks to all our sponsors, auction donors, Judges, MC’s, contestants, models, dancers and support crew for making this a memorable event, and for supporting our fundraiser for Warkworth Wellsford Hospice and Mahurangi College which raised about $11,000.
