Year 8 boys Soccer Zone Day held at Rosedale Park!

The Year 8 Boys Soccer Zone Day was held down at Rosedale Park yesterday and our boys ended up in a pool with Northcross, Birkdale and Pinehurst.  

Our first match against Northcross was very challenging and saw us lose this game 6-0.  Our second game against Birkdale was more evenly matched for our boys and although we were unable to hit the back of the net a few more times, our boys won 2-0.  Our next game was back to back from the Birkdale game to playing against Pinehurst.  This game was a good match too and the score didn’t really say how the game really unravelled.  

Our boys held the score to 0-0, until a gap on the back post saw Pinehurst score their first goal.  Unfortunatley, a few more messy goals and the end result was 5-0.  We then went on to play Orewa in a friendly match and this game was an exciting ‘goal for goal’ match, which saw us draw 5-5!  

Thank you to our wonderful Captain, Cormac and the great team spirit & sportsmanship that the boys showed throughout the day!  Thanks also to Mrs Blennerhassett for her amazing support and for helping us to get the boys down to Albany and back!
