On Friday 28th July members of the Performing Arts Academy visited Totara Park Retirement Village to perform at their mid winter luncheon. The six students performed a wide range of items including dramatic monologues, solo vocal performances and a hip hop dance (to which several residents sat enthusiastically tapping their feet along to the beat).
The highlight of the visit occurred at the end of the performances when the students were asked if they could perform an impromptu item from the school production. The students, led by Eloise Williams-Mart, then proceeded with an acapella rendition of "Wouldn't it be Loverly", to which the whole room burst into song when they got to the chorus lines. The students did an amazing job and their ability to perform under pressure was a true testament to their talent and can do attitude.
