<p>The performance of 'Romeo and Juliet' at the Pop-Up Globe that was attended by classes 10D/E went marvellously despite the weather trying to dampen the spirits of all attendees. They started off as groundlings (exposed to the elements in front of the stage) but the downpour gave the two classes - a sizeable 60 students - an opportunity to sit like royalty in the Lord’s boxes; the prime seats directly above and around the stage.</p>
<p><img title="The popup Globe in Auckland" src="img/news/globe.jpg" alt="" />A crowd-pleasing performance ensued, led by a cast of strong well-portrayed characters. Jonathan Tynan-Moss’ Romeo was a fan-favourite, and rightly so. He commanded attention and dominated the stage, no doubt capturing the heart of not only Juliet herself but of many teenage girls. Innovative staging - like climbing on the scaffolding - and audience interaction helped bring this show together. This theatre trip was a valuable experience and one which will enrich the learning of those going on to study Shakespeare’s classic text of love and loss. By Samuel Chitty</p>
