    L3TOU L3 Tourism 20 credits Yr: 13
    This course offers four internally assessed unit standards. The assessments are open book and require the students to prepare answers relevant to the unit standard being studied. This is not a university approved subject.
    Costs:
    Nil. Although there may be an optional field trip arranged with the associated trip costs payable at that time.
    Prerequisites:
    Nil - although a good level of literacy and self management skills is highly recommended.
    Learning Strategies:
    Reading texts for information, note-making, internet research, group and individual presentations. It is advisable that students have their own ipad or laptop for research.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Students will gain knowledge of Australia and the Pacific Islands as tourism destinations, investigate sites significant to Māori tourism and delve into the contribution of tourism to economies.
