    L3PHY L3 Physics 19 credits Yr: 13
    16 credits externally assessed at the end of the year and 3 credits internally assessed during the year. This is a university approved subject.
    Costs:
    A scientific calculator is essential.
    Prerequisites:
    12 credits in Level 2 Physics. Minimum of 10 external credits or with Head of Faculty approval.
    Learning Strategies:
    Where possible, experimental investigations will lead to an operational understanding of basic physical concepts, principles and models. This leads to problem solving and applications. The course requires students to complete a significant amount of homework and guided study.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Collect and analyse experimental data. Key physics topics: mechanics, electricity, electromagnetism, light and waves and nuclear physics. Students also have the opportunity to complete an additional internal standard on the applications of physics in a selected context.
