    L3MED L3 Media Studies 20 credits Yr: 13
    4 credits externally assessed, 16 credits internally assessed. This is a university approved subject and students can gain literacy credits through this course.

    Prerequisites:
    12 Level 2 English credits including one external standard or Head of Faculty approval.

    It is not necessary for students to have studied media at Level 1 and 2 but a sound grasp of comprehension skills, close reading skills and an interest in all things media is strongly recommended.
    Learning Strategies:
    Senior Media Studies.
    Students will tap into the power of written and visual literacy, effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.     We will provide you with the opportunity to write, direct, and produce your very own short film or documentary. This hands-on experience will allow you to express your unique vision and storytelling skills.

    We understand that not everyone is inclined to film making, and that's perfectly fine! If you are interested in media and society but not keen on making short films, fear not as we have an alternative program of study designed to accommodate your interests. You will still delve into captivating topics and explore the fascinating dynamics between media and society without the requirement of making a film.
