Main Areas of Study: | ||||
Analyse the media. Create with purpose. This course challenges you to think deeply about the media you consume—and gives you the tools to make your own. You’ll explore how film genres reflect and shape the world around us, analysing how shifting social attitudes influence what we see on screen. You’ll also carry out independent research into a media development that interests you—whether that’s a new technology, a social trend, or an industry shift—building strong investigative and critical thinking skills. Alongside this academic work, you’ll have the chance to write, direct, and produce your own short film or documentary. This is a creative project where you develop your voice as a storyteller, taking an idea from concept to screen. If filmmaking isn’t for you, there’s an alternative pathway that focuses on analysis and research. You’ll still explore media in depth—just from a different angle. Level 3 Media is ideal for students who want to combine creativity with critical thinking. Whether you're planning a future in media or just want to better understand the systems and stories that shape our world, this course offers a meaningful and challenging experience. |
