    L3HOS L3 Hospitality 19 credits Yr: 13
    All internally assessed unit standards. This is not a university approved subject.
    Costs:
    Course fee total $295 is made up of: materials $215 and assessment materials $80.
    Prerequisites:
    Having done L2 Hospitality is preferred but you may be approved by the TIC Hospitality or HoF, if numbers allow.
    Must have paid the full course fees for the previous year (or made an arrangement with the school).
    It is expected that you will have an electronic device to access some of the course content.


    Unit Standard 167 - Food Safety, Level 2 is a prerequisite for all Level 3 practical assessments. If you do not hold this standard, you cannot to sit Level 3 practical assessments. You may be given the option to do this standard at the beginning of the year in lieu of a Level 3 standard.

    Learning Strategies:
    Independent research and investigation, practical cookery, written and practical assessments.
    Main Areas of Study:
    The course is designed as an introduction to working in a commercial kitchen environment, with standards being those usually taught in tertiary courses. The course will cover a range of topics including: nutrition, menu planning, coffee production, espresso coffee, chutneys and preserves, and sandwiches.
