| In this course, you will sharpen your voice as a creative writer, experimenting with a range of writing styles for your creative portfolio. You will craft personal, imaginative, and original pieces – building towards a polished submission you can truly be proud of. You will also be introduced to critical theory for the first time – an exciting opportunity to think differently about texts. One of your internal assessments invites you to choose your own text and apply a theoretical lens (like feminism, Marxism, postcolonialism, or queer theory) to see it from a completely new perspective. We also dive into the powerful and disturbingly realistic novel The Handmaid's Tale. You'll explore themes like power, identity, and resistance – and discuss how Atwood's chilling world is far closer to our own than it first seems. This course is for thinkers, creators, and students who are ready to be challenged and inspired. |
