Students will be involved in practical activities and design briefs and be expected to describe and illustrate ideas using a range of drawing or digital methods relevant to the different stages of development and prototyping.
Main Areas of Study:
Level 3 Design & Visual Communication is your chance to take creative control. In this course, you choose your own design project and area of focus, allowing you to dive deep into what inspires you—whether that's architecture, product design, spatial design, drawing or 3D modelling.

You’ll continue to build advanced skills in visually communicating ideas through sketching, digital design tools, and 3D modelling, while mastering a design process that leads to practical, effective, and original solutions. This course is a powerful blend of creative thinking and real-world problem solving—perfect for students ready to take their design skills to the next level.

Level 3 DVC is designed for students who are considering design-related university pathways, such as architecture, spatial design, industrial/product design, graphic design, vehicle design, landscape architecture, animation, or engineering. The freedom to specialise means your portfolio will reflect your personal style and strengths—an essential step towards tertiary study or a creative career.

Students interested in pushing their potential even further can also opt into Scholarship Design & Visual Communication, which is offered within this course. With extra dedication, this is an excellent opportunity to gain national recognition for your design abilities.

Whether you're a hands-on sketcher, a digital designer, or a bit of both, this course is your platform to explore, innovate, and build an impressive design portfolio.
