    L3CNA L3 Construction Academy 28 credits Yr: 13
    Internally and externally assessed endorsed carpentry pre-apprenticeship approved standards, mainly from BCITO. This is NOT a university approved subject.

    Prerequisites:
    It is expected you have successfully completed the level 2 Construction Academy course, or creative technology, and/or have industry related work experience.
    It is expected that you will have an electronic device to access the course materials.

    Note:
    You are required to wear safety boots and a HiViz each time you are in the workshop. These will be provided by our local sponsors - Bayleys Matakana and ITM Warkworth. All other PPE will be provided.

    Learning through practical assignments and graded with supporting theory standards.
    Main Areas of Study:
    This double period course is designed to develop and encourage excellence in aspects of building construction, particularly leadership and problem solving skills. A wide variety of building skills will be covered to enable a student to enter an apprenticeship in the construction industry. Possible individual projects for this course could be outdoor furniture, and group work will be addressed through a community based project in the school environment.
