    12 credits from level 2 English (external course) and with Head of Faculty approval.
    Learning Strategies:
    Analysis of the ideas and values of different cultures with a focus being on the concepts of heroes We will also focus on and debate Alexander the Great's leadership. Examination of evidence and texts will help form an understanding of the major influences of the period studied.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Students will delve into the classical world to look at Alexander the Great and his policy of fusion. Students will analyse the impact of this significant historical figure on the classical world. There will also be an examination and analysis of the ideas and values of the classical world investigating the impact that this has had on the ideals behind heroes. We will look at the Greek and Roman societies to understand the cultural ideas that created Odysseus, Achilles and Aeneas and the epic stories they are involved in.
