    10 credits externally assessed and 10 credits internally assessed. This is a university approved subject.

    Prerequisites:
    Student are required to achieve in the majority of L2 Chemistry standards, including at least one external assessment, or with Head of Faculty approval.
    Learning Strategies:
    Students will undertake a variety of different learning activities including, but not limited to, practical work, individual practice, teacher led activities and group work.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Chemistry is the study of the structure and properties of matter. Students will explore the macro, micro and symbolic views of a chemist to explain the properties and reactions of different substances. The two external examinations focus on the key areas of chemistry: organic, thermochemical principles and the properties of particles. The internal standards will focus on a practical investigation, spectroscopy and redox reactions.
