    All internally assessed. Students studying this course are unable to proceed to a Level 3 Science subject.

    Prerequisites:
    To have previously gained some success in a Level 1 Science course and received the approval of the Head of Faculty.
    Learning Strategies:
    Students will learn to work independently on gathering, analysing and presenting data. This course is suitable for students who wish to gain credits in science at Level 2 but do not intend to proceed on to higher science studies.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Students will study different aspects of science depending on the abilities and interests of the students in the class. Students are likely to study the adaptations of a particular system in animals, investigate the effect of enzymes on the rate of chemical reactions taking place in the body, investigate the chemical species present in water samples and research how animals have adapted to extreme environments (either in space or the deep ocean).
