    Level One Māori or by teacher in charge approval.
    Learning Strategies:
    Students will be expected to be proactively involved in the course by using knowledge and skills interactively in and outside the classroom environment. A range of learning resources and activities will be used.
    Main Areas of Study:
    The ongoing development of skills in the area of reading, listening, speaking and writing. The study of cultural aspects such as customs, arts and waiata will be an integral part of the course.
