    Costs:
    Approximately $25 for workbooks. A scientific calculator is essential for all students. For students who will go on to take mathematics in Year 13 a Casio fx 9750 graphics calculator is recommended.
    Prerequisites:
    Students who have historically been successful on this course have come to us with a minimum of 14 course credits at Level 1 with merit or higher for the school algebra paper AND merit for 'Tables Equations and Graphs'. These students have a 'can do' attitude which is shown by them attempting all external examinations that they are entered for at Level 1. Students who do not meet these criteria may be considered under discussion with the Head of Faculty.
    Learning Strategies:
    Students will learn through utilisation of a range of different learning strategies that include: directed teaching, investigations and discovery learning, group work, practice tasks, regular formative and summative assessment. Students in this course must commit to completing regular homework tasks.
    Main Areas of Study:
    This course is designed to lead into ALL courses at Level 3: Level 3 Calculus, Level 3 Mathematics and Level 3 Statistics. As such, there will be a broad range of topics on offer ranging from probability and statistics to algebra and calculus. Because such a broad range of topics is on offer, students must be comfortable to quickly learn and perfect new concepts.
