    L2HEA L2 Health 20 credits Yr: 12
    Achievement Standards - one standard is external (5 credits) and three standards are internal (15 Credits).

    Nil
    Prerequisites:
    A minimum of 12 credits in Level 1 Health or by negotiation with the Head of Faculty. If Health has not been taken at Level 1 then it is expected that students have achieved 12 credits in a literacy based subject.
    Learning Strategies:
    Guest speakers, class discussions, researching, group activities, self reflection and problem solving. Understanding the underlying health concepts of hauora well-being, attitudes and values, socio-ecological perspectives and health promotion.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Main topics include: enhancing a group of people's well-being within school or in the wider community (e.g; making meals for Kura Kai or improving participation at lunchtime sport), identify issues related to sexuality and gender through music videos, explore adolescent health issues and interview a resilient role model to learn about the protective and risk factors when facing change or loss in life. Students are encouraged to follow areas of personal interest when selecting their topics.
