    L2GEO L2 Geography 18 credits Yr: 12
    4 credits externally assessed and 14 credits internally assessed achievement standards. Achievement standards at Level 3 and Scholarship geography can be an option.
    Costs:
    Approximately $360 for field trip to the Tongariro environment. These costs can be spread across the duration of the course.
    Prerequisites:
    Achieved in both NCEA assessments, or by approval by TIC & HoF.
    Learning Strategies:
    Students will learn through independent learning activities, collaboration, thinking and decision making and by exploring current geographic issues and global topics. Students will be encouraged to develop their knowledge, argue opinions and communicate effectively. This course is also enhanced by geographic research carried out over three days in the Tongariro environment.
    Main Areas of Study:
    Key topics are: learning about the Tongariro natural environment; predator free NZ 2050, urban growth Mexico city, and global topic such as coffee production.
