Achieved in one of the writing assessments in level 1 geography, or from level 1 English or Head of Faculty approval Attendance on the field trip is dependant upon student behaviour and engagement prior to the trip. |

Learning Strategies: | ||||
Students will learn through independent learning activities, collaboration, thinking and decision making and by exploring current geographic issues and global topics. Students will be encouraged to develop their knowledge, argue opinions and communicate effectively. This course is also enhanced by geographic research carried out over three days in the Tongariro environment. | ||||
Main Areas of Study: | ||||
Key topics are: learning about the Tongariro natural environment which will be the context for our external exam as well as our research internal. The remainder of the internal assessments will be based on; how best to achieve predator free New Zealand by 2050, urban growth in Mexico city, and the global topic coffee production. |
