Prerequisites: |

6 credits in level 1 Chemical Reactions internal assessment, at Merit or above, or with Head of Faculty approval. |
Learning Strategies: |
---|
Students in Level 2 Chemistry will use a variety of learning strategies to build their understanding of chemical concepts. These include practical experiments, group activities, and guided class discussions to apply theory to real-world situations. Creating summaries, using diagrams (such as particle models or reaction pathways), and practising calculations will support understanding. Regular use of past exam questions, self-quizzing, and seeking feedback will help develop exam skills and confidence. Collaborative learning will also support problem-solving and deeper thinking. |
Main Areas of Study: |
---|
This course builds on Level 1 Chemistry and prepares students for Level 3 Chemistry. It develops understanding of chemical principles through both theoretical and practical learning. Students will explore the properties and behaviours of substances, quantitative relationships in chemical reactions, oxidation and reduction processes, and the structure and bonding of molecules. |
